V Festival

V Festival Is Coming... Have you bought your tickets yet?

The two day pop festival is back in the North and South of England on the weekend of Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th of August. V Festival will be returning to Western Park in Telford, Shropshire, and Hylands Park in Chelmsford, London, to showcase a line-up of the best in British music, as well as a mix of international pop acts.

Known as V Festival since 2003, the festival originally took on the name of the year when it began in 1996, with the first V Festival being named "V96”. Created by Jarvis Cocker, the exhibitionist front man from English alternative rock band, Pulp, V festival enabled the band to solve the problem of performing for their fans, in the North and South of England, at two outdoor venues over two consecutive days. Since V Festival began in 1996 its popularity has grown year on year, along with the big names that now take to the stage.

Headlining at V Festival 2012 are the legendary, cinnamon sweet, home-grown rockband, The Stone Roses, and American rock band, The Killers. UK top 40 chart acts also taking to the stage include Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Snow Patrol, Nicki Minaj, David Guetta, Tinie Tempah, Ed Sheernan, Rizzle Kicks, Maverick Sabre, plus many more!

V Festival tickets are on sale now and due to high demand they are expected to sell out fast! Haven’t managed to grab your tickets yet for what looks set to be the best music festival of the year? StubHub, the world’s largest ticket marketplace, still has tickets available for full weekend passes and Saturday and Sunday passes at both venues.

If you are camping for the full festival experience, both V Festival venue’s campsite facilities are fully equipped with toilets, showers, free drinking water and plenty of rubbish and recycling points to help the environment and keep your sleeping quarters nice and clean; except from the rain and mud, essential in the festival experience!

Here are some V Festival Do’s and Don’ts:

  • DO book your tickets in advance.
  • DON’T get caught out by touts selling counterfeit tickets outside of the event.
  • DO bring your ID if you want to buy booze.

  • DO be prepared for the worst and bring your waterproof and wellies; Typical British summer rain!

  • DO see as many V Festival acts as you can!
  • DON’T lose valuables such as mobile phones, jewellery and expensive cameras. If you can, bring cheaper alternatives.
