September event at the Wales National Pool

Young swimmers have the chance to swim with Olympians and Paralympians as a special British Swimming event comes to Swansea.

The British Swimming Heroes Tour, presented by British Gas, is being billed as chance to meet and swim with Britain's Olympians.

Around 10 Olympic and Paralympic swimmers - including double Olympic medallist David Davies, Georgia Davies, Jemma Lowe, Ieuan Lloyd, and Sascha and Nyree Kindred - are expected to attend the Swansea event.

The events offer a day of aquatic activities and opportunities for children aged eight to 12.

The Heroes Tour comes to the Wales National Pool on Thursday 13th September.

Entry will be by ticket only, and there are a number of online competitions being held by British Swimming to win tickets, but the deadline for entries is 10th August.

Tickets are also being allocated to local schools, while a last chance competition for tickets will be announced by Swim Wales soon.

Chris Roberts, Swim Wales Regional Business Manager for West Wales said: "Having been captivated by the events in London 2012's Aquatics Centre this will be a fantastic opportunity to experience what it's like competing at swimming's elite level and to meet the athletes who have so proudly represented their country at these games”
