Holley Holds Seat But Loses Council

Friday, May 4th 2012 01:00

Hear a full interview with former council leader Chris Holley on what was a bad night for the Lib Dems in Swansea.

The Lib Dems keep hold of Cwmbwrla in what was a damage limitation night for the local council.

A number of Lib Dem council seats fell throughout the night with Labour taking control of the council for the first time since 1999.

Two electoral divisions of Sketty and Uplands are still to be confirmed, with a re-count due to start at 10am this morning.

Early indications project that the council and Lib Dems will suffer further loses in these seats.

Former Lib Dem council leader Chris Holley, who retained his Cwmbwrla seat, was shocked at the level of defeat for his party.
