Memories from survivors recall harrowing events

An exhibition telling the story of Jewish refugees opens in Swansea this afternoon to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.

Ellen Davies - who's story is told in the exhibition - arrived in Swansea from Nazi-occupied Europe in 1939.

When she arrived in South Wales to be taken in by a foster family she couldn't speak a word of English.

Today she still tells her harrowing story of survival so that other generations will never forget the devastating event in world history.

That exhibition - Jewish Refugees in South Wales - will be in the Civic Centre foyer until February 5.

Today's event starts at 2pm.
