Police in Swansea are investigating a serious sexual assault that took place in the city centre last night (Thursday 26th January)

Police in Swansea are investigating a serious sexual assault which happened in the city centre during the early hours on Thursday 26th January.

The 18-year-old female victim was in York Street at around 11.55pm on Wednesday night when she got into a black Vauxhall Zafira car.

She was later seen getting out of the same vehicle at around 12.25am in Castle Street.

The victim has reported that between these times she was sexually assaulted in the vehicle in The Strand at the rear of the Argos store.

Detective Inspector Darren George of Swansea Central Police Station said: "The incident was obviously extremely upsetting for the victim and a full investigation is ongoing.

"I would appeal to anyone who has information about this vehicle, particularly anyone who saw it in the Swansea city centre area between 11.50pm on Wednesday night and 12.30am on Thursday morning to come forward.”
