Watch out for Dai's going for gold icecream

Dai Greene has the 400-metre Olympic hurdle gold medal in the bag.

That's the case if an ice cream kiosk in Llanelli has anything to say. They have developed a Dai Greene going for gold ice cream.

Angela and Mark Edwards have developed a mint flavoured ice cream covered in gold sprinkles and stars to honour their potential Olympic Gold medal winner.

Dai runs in the first qualifying heats on today and tomorrow, hoping to qualify for the final on Monday.

Angela said: "We had been thinking of a special new Olympic treat ice cream to go with the 50-odd flavours we have on sale at the kiosk but are reserving the new one for Felinfoel's very own Dai Green in the hope that he can secure gold in the 400-metre final.

"The flavour will definitely be Green with golden sprinkles.

"We are hoping Dai's golden performance will lift the gloom from the dark skies and bring that golden disc-the sun to shine on us once more too.”

"Ice cream sales, like the skies and clouds and a certain book, have had 50 shades of grey for this summer.”
