Thank you for expressing an interest in Neath Port Talbot's Foster Plus Scheme.
Our Foster Plus 10+ Scheme is aimed at providing short term, solution focused foster placements for children and/or young people who may have complex needs or may display challenging behaviour.
Whilst working with 10-17 year olds can be very rewarding, these young people pose many challenges for those who live and work alongside them. It is important that you consider carefully the level of needs of the young people we are looking to place. Their experience of life so far can make it hard for them to trust other people. A foster plus carer will work with the young person to develop and maintain positive and supportive relationships.
Are you patient, tolerant and flexible with a commitment to overcome setbacks and support a young person through times of difficulty?
Are you able to provide a stable, structured and nurturing environment to a child or young person?
Then you could be a Foster Plus 10+ carer.
Foster plus 10+ carer must be available 7 days a week (other than agreed holidays and respite periods), have no children living at home and the main carer to have no full time work commitments. Full support will be provided to you by a Fostering Social Worker and you will receive allowances for your commitment and dedication.
