Domestic Abuse Campaigner's Courage Recognised By Duchess Of Cornwall

Rachel Williams from South Wales has been invited for lunch at Clarence House next week.

Rachel..has spent years campaigning for change to domestic abuse laws after suffering at the hands of her first husband.

When she left him..he stalked and harassed her for 6 weeks:

"He came into my place of work  on Friday 19th August in 2011 with a sawn-off shot gun. There was a hefty battle in the shop with him which resulted in him shooting me.

"I managed to grab the gun, again there was a battle. I think I had some kind of supernatural strength, I just don't know.

"But he then proceeded to beat me up, stamping on my head, he kicked me under my chin....black eyes for six weeks, my left ear had to be slit because it was like a cauliflower ear."

He then took his own life and tragically, six weeks later their son killed himself too.

Rachel says Jack had to deal with so much:

"I came out of hospital on 23rd September 2011 and then on the 26th September my youngest son Jack who was 16 at the time committed suicide.

"He's the real tragedy and the victim in this case."
