Kev Johns Celebrates 19 Years In Panto

Our very own Kevin Johns will appear in his 19th consecutive pantomime at Swansea Grand Theatre this Christmas.

Swansea Grand Theatre has announced that much-loved Grand Dame of pantomime Kevin Johns MBE will be starring in this year's wish-filled family production of Aladdin from the 15 December 2017.

One of Wales' most prolific performers, Kevin's career has spanned musical theatre, stand-up comedy, presenting and pantomime, with this year's appearance as Widow Twankey marking his 19th consecutive year at the Singleton Street venue.

The Swansea Sound presenter has entertained thousands of audience members every Christmas with his trademark comedy, outrageous costumes and quick wit.

From Shakespeare to Songs of Praise, Kevin has appeared in numerous theatrical productions, television programmes and radio shows as well as being a newspaper columnist, author, fundraiser and recipient of the MBE from Her Majesty the Queen.

Kevin said, "I can't quite believe Aladdin will be my 19th Grand pantomime, but I'm delighted to have been asked back yet again.

"The Grand audiences are amongst the best in the world and it's a real honour to entertain so many families and friends every Christmas.

"We're already busy thinking of new ideas and routines to wow the crowds, and I can't wait for the magic to start."

Theatre Manager, Paul Hopkins said, "We are thrilled to welcome Kev back for this year's pantomime and are looking forward to another show stopping pantomime at Swansea Grand Theatre"

Produced once again by Qdos Entertainment, the world's biggest pantomime producer, audiences will follow Aladdin, his hapless brother Wishee Washee and, of course, his mother Widow Twankey, on a spectacular adventure featuring a wish-granting genie, an evil sorcerer and a lamp-full of laughs.

"With further star casting to be announced, audiences should make tickets to Aladdin one of their three wishes this festive season by hopping abroad a magic carpet and flying to the Box Office today!

Aladdin runs at Swansea Grand Theatre from 15th December - Sunday 14th January.
