Michael Sheen- backed Christmas lights campaign closes in on target

Actor's funding pledge is a massive boost

A funding plea to bring some festive cheer to Port Talbot has met over half its target.

Yesterday we brought you news that local-born actor and star of Good Omens, Michael Sheen had agreed to match every penny raised to fund decorations for his home town.

The town hasn't had festive lights for years since they fell into disrepair.

But a fundraising SOS coordinated by Aberavon RFC and supported by local councillors caught the eye of screen legend Michael Sheen.

They want to raise £10, 000 via their Go-FundMe account.

Its not the first time the actor has shown his love for his home town ... he paid for a Banksy artwork to be protected after it was painted on a Taibach garage wall.
