More flooding misery for South Wales communnities previously devastatedit by storm Dennis.

Homes and streets in Rhondda Cynon Taf have been hit with floodwater after heavy storms yesterday evening.

Pentre is one of the communities which has been particularly  badly affected.

The Leader of Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, Andrew Morgan said:

“In response to significant localised flooding, to almost 200 properties across the County Borough, the Council has deployed addition resources, to support the local authorities highways crews and to assist the emergency services.

“The flash flooding caused by yesterday evening’s severe thunderstorms, has unfortunately impacted upon communities which have already experienced the devastation of flooding earlier this year.

“As a Council we will seek to respond proactively to this situation to support these communities and residents which have been impacted.”

Buckets, mops and cleaning products have been delivered to a local community centre so residents can start the clean up this morning
