Norovirus closes Neath school

Ysgol Maes Y Coed in Bryncoch will be closed today to re-open next Tuesday.


A Neath school's been temporarily closed because of a severe outbreak of Norovirus. 

Ysgol Maes Y Coed in Bryncoch will be closed today and will re-open next Tuesday.

The school has been in constant communication with Public Health Wales and Neath Port Talbot Council.

A Neath Port Talbot Council spokesman said: “Pupils that attend Ysgol Maes Y Coed are susceptible to this type of virus and we want to contain the outbreak as best we can.

“The school has been in constant communication with Public Health Wales and the Local Authority, both of whom support the temporary closure in order to minimise the spread of the virus.”
