Remembrance Weekend: Lest We Forget

Two pupils from Ysgol Bae Baglan have been telling us what it's like to be part of the Remembrance Sunday commemorations.

15 year old Amelia Willn and Harri Oglesby who is 13 are both members of TS Encounter Briton Ferry, Neath and District Sea Cadets.

Amelia recently took part in the poppy making preparations to build the Remembrance Bridge in Jersey Park.

She says being involved in the parades and tributes is a fitting way to remember those who have lost their lives whilst fighting for our country.

We wanted to find out more about the sea cadets - so asked Harri Oglesby, his parents are staff members in his unit too.

There are lots of things you can do such as first aid, catering, shooting, boating and seamanship.

Harri is also an award winner - he won a top national gong earlier this year.

LISTEN to interview here:

On Wednesday Amelia and Harri attended Briton Ferry Community Centre where their group received a cheque off Briton Ferry Community Council following a fundraising concert.

The charity Care after Combat was also a beneficiary on the night - receiving four hundred pounds.
