Police call to dog walkers after 73 year-old David Williams was found in Pontwalby

Detectives investigating the murder of David Williams continue to appeal for witnesses.

73-year-old Mr Williams was found in the Danygraig Lane area of Pontwalby, Glynneath, on Monday.

Police say the area is popular with dog walkers and would like to hear from anyone who was in the area between 2 and 8 pm.

A 28-year-old local man, arrested on suspicion of murder, remains in police custody.

Detective Superintendent Darren George, of the Major Crime Investigation Team, said:

"I would like to thank the community of Glynneath for their support with this investigation so far.

"We know that the area where Mr Williams lived is very popular with dog walkers and we are keen to hear from anyone who was in the Pontwalby area between 2pm and 8pm on Monday.

"It may be that you believe you did not see anything which can help us but we would still ask you to please contact us if you were in the area at that time.

"Our thoughts remain with Mr Williams’ family who are being supported by specially-trained family liaison officers."
