Self-contained holiday accommodation in Wales opens today

Key date for cottages, flats and some hotels

From today, self-contained accommodation can re-open to the public in Wales.

If this is successful, the Welsh Government will re-open campsites on July 25.

Oxwich Bay Hotel in Swansea is one of those able to partially re-open today. Manager Lindsay Glover says there have been a few extra things to take care of:

"There's a lot of preparations around safety. Obviously we've got the social distancing measures, the extra cleaning measures. We've signed up and got our good to go qualifications so we're all ready to welcome customers back."

She said they felt like the business had received good support from governments locally and nationally and that they were hoping to bring furloughed staff back soon.

We've also had an update about slight changes to physical distancing regulations in Wales in certain circumstances.

Welsh Government's told us two metres will remain the legal default but where businesses can't maintain that there will have to be other mitigating measures.
