At 34 years of age Swansea City fan Marie Parton was diagnosed with breast cancer ..just 18 months after giving birth to her youngest daughter.
It was a devastating blow for the young family - and just weeks before Christmas.
Instead of starting treatment straight away Marie decided to wait until the January so they could have what she thought 'might be' their last special festive period together. In the new year she had surgery and started chemotherapy. It was during this period she also decided to have what she calls 'a project' to distract her from her own problems.
Marie, who is a huge Swansea City fan decided to raise money for the breast cancer unit she says saved her life. Over the years she has been supported and helped by the football club as well local businesses.
Six years on from her breast cancer diagnosis and Marie is clear of the disease - and still fundraising.
This summer her focus is Singleton Hospital's Ward 12 - after it was damaged in a fire.
Marie is eternally grateful to the staff there - not just for the care she received, but for the kindness also shown to her father-in-law who sadly passed away two years ago.
The mum of two has called on a few friends including SAS hero Pete 'the mink' Morrison to help her raise vital funds to replace some of the items that were lost.
