Video : DIY SOS Briton Ferry!!!

Over 80 volunteers are coming together to help fix up former Llansawel Primary!

A group of trustees have taken over the building and are transforming it into a community hub.

Former parent governors Tracey Johns and Rebecca Tucker hatched a successful business plan to pitch to Neath Port Talbot Council safeguard its future.

After an appeal for volunteers - Ally Davies, Karen Tyrell and Noleen Jones joined the team as trustees.

Briton Ferry is one of the most disadvantaged areas in Neath Port Talbot. It has some of the highest levels of deprivation according to official statistics.

Rebecca Tucker told us: "Some people can't afford cars so rarely leave the area.  Lots of people struggle to pay for uniforms - so we are setting up a pop up shop selling second hand ones. There'll be a food bank too and counsellor to help those struggling with their mental health. "
