'Without Her We Are Truly Lost'

Family pay tribute to 87 year old great-grandmother from Baglan who died after being involved in a road traffic collision on Mother's Day.

87 year old Phyllis Mahoney from Greenwood Road died in hospital after an incident on Sunday the 31st of March..

Her family has released a statement saying saying: “Our Mum Phyllis Mahoney was suddenly taken from us under such tragic circumstances and passed away in hospital on Tuesday 2nd April. To say our lives have been torn apart is an understatement.

“Our mum was so loved by all our family and friends, without her we are truly lost.

"She is a loved and respected mother to her three children, Patricia, Peter and Anthony, a much loved and adored grandmother and great-grandmother. 

“A massive hole has been left in our hearts, our lives will never be the same. 

"We are trying to make sense of this past week but our grief is so raw. 

“Our mum will be greatly missed loved and cherished in our hearts forever. 

"God bless Mum.” 

South Wales Police is continuing to investigate the collision which involved a black BMW 1 Series coupe and a copper-coloured Peugeot 207.

 Two men, one aged 33 and the other aged 26 who were arrested in connection with the incident have been released under investigation.
