Helen's Blog - Charity for the Guide Dogs

Hi there

Hope you're well & have had a lovely day in the sunshine today.

On the show today it was a brand new 'What am I' as it went on day 7 yesterday by Elliot in Bryncoch who correctly guessed I was a 'bain Marie'.

Here are the clues from today:

1: I can be an shape or size

2: I can even be an animal

Tune in tomorrow for more clues & you can win a prize if you can guess what I am.

CHARITY NIGHT IN AID OF THE GUIDE DOGS

Last night I had the great honour of being asked to host a charity night in aid of the Guide Dogs at Gowerton Conservative club on Sterry Road. It was an amazing night with such quality entertainment. All the artists kindly gave their time & talents for free to help this worthy charity.

The start of the night was the lovely gorgeous trio of Demi, Leoni & Nataya known as Minnie Minx. They are so young & so full of confidence & talent.

Demi on the right then sang a song dedicated to her nan who sadly has breast cancer. The song was written for her by a family friend called Sarah & there wasn't a dry eye in the house. So moving!

I then had a chat to our special guest from the Guide Dogs, Andrea Gordon. She was escorted on stage by her husband & her beautiful guide dog.

I loved this lady as she was so inspirational & has never let her disability stop her from doing anything. She spoke so passionately about what this charity means to her.

I also spoke with Paul Johnson who organised the night & he does so much for charity. What a hero!

Click to hear this wonderful lady!

Here I am with some of the artists tonight. Next to me is the lovely Andrea Harrington Lewis who is one half of the duo Face to Face. She is a county councillor by day & a singer by night.

Then it's the fabulous Diane Thacker who hasn't sung in 20 years & she was amazing.

Next to Diane is her niece Charlie C who was just amazing. Talent clearly runs in their family.

This the brilliant Kimberley Williams who is only 16 I none of us could believe how amazing she was for her age.

This is my good pal Jheena Lodwick who in my opinion is one of the most classiest singers I have ever heard. Her voice is technically perfect & she gives a master-class in singing when she performs. I love her voice!

Here I am again with Andrea & Jheena & I'm standing next to the lovely Christine Sweeney who help to organise the event too & helped out so much on the night. Her husband Brendan is running the half marathon in Swansea for the Guide Dogs.

This is Andy Hill the other half of Face to Face. A massive thank you to Andy & Andrea who kindly let all the artists use their equipment & to their sound guy Mike.

I love this photo. I'm on stage with Paul Johnson as he does his sweet shop wrap. The club went crazy. Brilliant!!
